Born and raised in San Francisco, we grew up loving black sesame soup, our favorite Chinese dessert. The “hey” in “heysesame” is a play on the Chinese word “hei” or “黑,” the color black. Besides our obsession with anything black sesame flavored, we share a passion for fashion, decor, and even more food. So here we are, chronicling our adventures as we navigate the amazingly different cities we live in.
While we used to fight for the same pair of leggings back in the day, our personal styles have since split off into two directions. But we both still hold the same philosophy that style should exude a personal identity, be simple to put together, and bring your life experiences to new heights.
Today, we live half a world away from each other (6,479 miles apart to be exact), but we’re always on the same page, so visit often! Here, we pay homage to the fact that although we hold individual views of fashion and lifestyle, we’ll always share the same taro roots.
