Sanlitun (“Three Miles Village,” “三里屯”) in Beijing is a happenin’ place – a bustling center of fashion, art, shopping, and bar-hopping. And anywhere I can find enough Hello Kitty balloons to fly away à la “Up” is a winner in my book.
Since I’d be walking in the sun all day, I decided on this H&M mesh tank top with these H&M wide-leg boho pants. The thing I love best about this top is the halter cut and mesh on the top and bottom. When shopping for black basics, remember that all you need is a slight change in detail to vary your collection. A halter style can make a black tank vastly different.
For a hot day, I like to carry around some extra sunscreen and face blotting paper. That’s when my black & gold Tory Burch Reva Clutch comes in super handy, as it opens up like a book with double pockets! It’s more heavy duty than it looks.
When I’m traveling, piecing together easy breezy outfits like this one allows me to spend more time on exploration and adventure. In Sanlitun’s artistically-structured outdoor shopping area, there are tons of hobbyist photographers taking photos of inspirational things that stood out. That said, I felt like a walking piece of art in these pants.
Takeaway: While these pants looked a little intimidating at first, like all things in life you must take risks to bring your style to new heights.
