Standing outside the Forbidden City at the heart of Beijing was something I never imagined I’d get to do, much less in my favorite Red H&M Wide-Cut Jumpsuit right inside the Imperial Palace where emperors of the Ming and Qing dynasty lived for 500 years. One can only imagine the extravagantly detailed imperial garb of those inside the City, and the palatial décor that has influenced both eastern and western style to this very day.
As you might have noticed, I’m usually a girl of few colors – black, white, or gray. I own few colorful clothes though I’ll make special exceptions for tops or bottoms (not both!) Obviously, this head-to-toe red jumpsuit was a major exception. It made me break my own fashion rules, and that’s exactly the kind of inspirational outfit I live to find. Supremely minimalist, yet definitely not for the faint of heart.
If you’re a neutral girl like me but want to add a little color to your life once in a while… Switch up your usual routine by wearing a red dress to work on any given Friday, or this fabulous red romper to dinner to really turn some heads!
Takeaway: Pair with tassel earrings to make a truly imperial statement.
