There’s only one price you pay here and that’s 380 RMB a person. Don’t be turned off by the fact that it’s AYCE (All You Can Eat). No stomach-turning buffet lines to worry about. This only means that you can order endless fresh Uni and humongous fresh Peony Shrimp Sashimi in a fine dining atmosphere without worrying about eating your pockets empty. Which is usually what happens to me when I eat sushi. One or even two orders of a good thing is never enough. Which is why you must make a reservation here or else be prepared to wait.
For sashimi, my personal favorite is the Botan shrimp sashimi, which is sweet, fresh and hefty. WARNING: After you eat it, you can’t go back to eating average sized (aka tiny) sweet shrimp. The Botan here taste on point every time. For cooked choices, I recommend the beef tongue, lobster porridge, miso cod, and baked gingko nuts resting in salt. The quality of the food is really excellent, from the sashimi down to each little dish of small eats like this mini natto, tuna, avocado, wasabi bowl complete with shiso leaf.
All this is served in individual portions at your table, so stop thinking you have to endure lines to get your food. You get an exquisite menu from which to order some of the most amazing, huge, fresh slices of sashimi and tasty cooked fare. There’s something for everyone, from yakitori to sashimi, to gingko nut snacks. Cleanse your palate with some soba noodles over ice. I would recommend ordering a few things at a time. At the risk of sounding like a semi-pro buffet eater, I also suggest giving yourself 2 hours here to indulge in your feast without feeling like you didn’t eat everything you wanted to.
We finished off with matcha and strawberry ice cream with fruit. A typical ending but not sure what else my heart could desire after a meal like that. I felt as though I didn’t need to eat sushi again for another year… but somehow I knew I’d probably be back here within a month after missing that Botan shrimp.
